Are You Sure You Don't Like the Affordable Care Act? Take This Quiz to Find Out

ß Do you like the idea that health insurance companies cannot drop people for
having pre-existing conditions?
ß Do you like the idea that all new health insurance plans must cover preventive
services and provide new essential health benefits, this includes everything from
yearly check-ups, to maternity care, to mental health, to mammograms and
colonoscopies, at no out-of-pocket costs?
ß Do you like the idea that insurance companies cannot drop you when you are sick
or if you make an honest mistake on your application?
ß Do you like the idea that insurance companies should be prevent against gender
discrimination?
ß Do you like the idea that insurance companies cannot make unjustified rate
hikes?
ß Do you like the idea that insurance companies shouldn’t be able to make life-time
and annual limits on what they will cover?
ß Do you like the idea that employers with over 50 full time employees have to
provide health insurance to their workers?
ß Do you like the idea of allowing young adults (26 and below) to stay on their
parent’s insurance even if they aren’t in school?
ß Do you like the idea of capitalism and allowing private companies to compete
with each other for your business, thereby driving down costs?
ß Do you like the idea of providing cost assistance for those below the poverty line
to buy health insurance so they don’t have to use the ER for minor things and can go
to a Dr. instead, and therefore the tax payers don’t have to pick up their exorbitant
ER bills?
ß Do you like the idea of less out of pocket expenses for doctors visits?
If you answered yes to at least 6 of these questions, you like the Affordable Care Act aka
Obamacare. You still might want single payer (I know I do) and you still might even
think there are some problems with the law that need to be worked out (I do too). But,
nonetheless if you answered yes to at least 6 of these questions, you like Obamacare.
